Dear Bear collectors, What is the wood on my 71 Grizzly?
Thanks in advance,

I believe all the 71 Grizzlies had Shedua. Just some had nicer examples than others.
-
I think Jack is right, on both counts.
Thats a pretty one.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate it!

Dave,
I sold one to my nephew that had the same wood and looks just like it...It has black limbs and black and white tip overlays and 56" long...Great shooters....One of the prettist woods I think bear used...

Yep, catalog CD says that the '71 Grizzly was made of shedua and the glass was black. Finding out that the catalogs were not always right, according to the catalog, the '68 grizzly was made of zebra wood but mine is shedua. Was told it depended on what wood was in supply at the time the bow was built.

Michael,
All the 68s I've ever owned were either Shedua or Tigerwood. The Zebrawwoods were 1964 and 65.
-
No matter, it's beautiful wood!
-
Sorry Jack, Just looked at the CD and they were "tigerwood". My Bad

I had one like that once, but with a strip of white sapwood that looked pretty cool.

I have the same year Grizzly but it's got a really red bubinga riser. Not as pretty as that one though.
