Anyone hear of a marksman bow?
It has a look of an old Ben pearson. Its in really rough shape but for the price, I couldn't walk past it. Crap, It was worth it's price in fire wood.
Its 5'2", similar to the special I have only white.
Anyone???

Marksman bows were made in England in a factory near to Sherwood forest ( of Robin Hood fame ) . Th company was mainly manufacturing in the 1960's - 1980's . If you Google Les Howis ( who founded the company )you will be able to find out more.

What model is it you have ? . i have a few old catalogs from the UK , If you let me know which model I should be able to scan the sales advertising for your bow and post it here .

Not sure of the model. All I know is it had white/cream colored glass on the back and one stress down the middle.
Only had a crappy cell phone pic. The finish was chipping off badly. Bought it at an auction for 12 bucks. Its being sent tomorrow, sight unseen (by me) to a buddies house for his girlfriend to join in on our archery forays. My father actually is the one who found the bow and bought it.
I will forward this to him. Hopefully when he gets the bow he can find some history on it.

Just out of interest, Les Howis's head bowyer, Kieth Gascoine, is still building bows under the name KG Archery, based in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
Kieth built 2 bows for my & The Wife before we moved out of the UK. Hell of a nice guy & more than happy to help with dating & researching your bow.
