Title: kodiak magnum ?

ok, if my Kodiak magnum has a bushing insert. it was made after 1971 correct? and the coin is raised up. and green riser with a serial number of ku-24188
amo 52" 50x#. made in grayling, mi. it would be a 1972 to 1977 Kodiak correct? thanks for any help..

If you post pics of the tip overlays we can narrow it down even more.

OK, 2 question...1 how could you tell it was not a 1972? and how could you tell it was not a 1976 or 1977? thanks, denny

The 72 was a dual tropical hardwood riser. The 73-75 were green futurewood with white phenolic overlay on the back of the riser. The 76-77 had a futurewood overlay instead of the white. I've never noticed a difference in the tips between the 73-75 years but I've been told the position of the stab bushing can determine that.

I always liked the futurewood overlays the best.

 Your pictures look as if your Magnum has the white overlays on the back of the riser to me and that would make it a 73-75. If you look at the link on Kodiak Hunters I posted on your thread you will see the difference in the two riser overlays. The same overlays apply to the Magnums from the same years.

oh, ok. now i see what you mean. i was thinking that was the front of the riser.. an the overlays where the little PC. on the tips..sorry jack. now i got you..it is a 1973 to 1975....thanks fellas for all your help. i am learning a little. thanks, denny

You'll love that bow.  Mine is the same vintage and I've really enjoyed getting to know it the past 3 years!  It was always the bow I wanted growing up and was finally able to track one down at the used rack of a local archery store.

I looked on my bear archery catalog cd and the pics do not show the tips but the 73-75's have the white on the front of the handle. The 76 and 77's have light green on the front of the handle I have a Green futurewood. Its a great bow.

don't like it. shot it today and it stacked like crazy. to short for my draw.. the kodaik hunter shot good.
