Title: What year Kodiak Hunter
Post by: longbow565 on January 09, 2013, 10:41:00 AM
# KT 26057 green glass no stabilizer flush emblem with raised bear. I would say 9 of 10 condition. No stress cracks straight limbs and only 2 little scuffs. Great shape. How old and what is it worth. The guy wants 200.00.
Thanks Tracy

1970. I've seen a couple similar lately $150-$200 shipped.

Are they good shooting bows or should I wait for a super kodiak in your opinion?

Some prefer one over the other as the grip is different on both. Everyone has there own opinion after shooting both. You will most likely pay more for a Kodiak or Super Kodiak.

Thanks Jack. I like a low grip better than a high. In that case the hunter would be better. Right?

The Kodiak Hunter has a high wrist grip. The earlier ones more so than the 1970 you are looking at.

The Kodiak Hunter is a great bow and very under rated. A real performer and bullet proof. I could be wrong but
Im pretty sure the glass used for 1970 was grey in the Kodiak Hunter with pau-ferro and bubinga woods with a black vertical stripe with Wt/ Bk overlays.
Your serial # says 1971 according to my records but also used  grey glass, not green.
From 1973 on, we saw green glass once again on the hunter with future wood (green).
1967 (58" only) and 1968 (60" from here on out) kodiak hunters also used green glass with shedua risers. These are the prettiest models IMHO. There were some made with different woods and glass color as well.
