Title: Gelco bow info please?
Post by: BrokenArrows on January 04, 2013, 12:03:00 PM
What do you know about them?

What I've heard is:

Produced in San Diego CA in the 50s, last year 1960. Owned by one of the Gordon glass brothers and Frank Eicholtz (the "G" and "E" in Gelco). Who was the "L", if anybody?

I have three and like them a lot! They are great shooters! Smooth, fast, and quiet in my hands anyway.

Don't know much more than you mentioned. I have had a few over the years and sold them. Hard to find them with the original decal intact. There is actually one on that auction site now. They are nice shooting bows.

I have a Gelco 800 that I bought new back in the early 50's. Green glass on back and white on belly.  It is a 45 pound recurve and it still shoots great.
