I shot my 63' Kodiak at the range today with the guys. Man it shot good. I am planning on hunting with it next year for its and mine 50th.
-
Mine give up nothing to the 61s, 62s, and 64's I've had. If anything, I think they shoot even better. For all we hear about doglegs, the Kodiaks are darned fine bows.
-
I'm with Tom on this one.
A couple years ago I put my '63 against my '64 (same weights) and to my surprise it won in both the speed and accuracy tests.
Others may end up with different results, but I'm convinced the dogleg is no slouch.
-
I need to shoot mine too to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Mark you need to loan one to Steve.Lol

I have to agree. The Dogleg does not get the credit it deserves. I shoot the '63 more than any of my Kodiaks.
-
Maybe I'll shoot mine tomorrow. I hunted with my 63 griz some this deer season, but no shots...KYArcher

I shot yours Poodlehead.......nice bow...!

I bought a '63 Kodiak from Dan (Poodlehead). I haven't shot it much but plan to get it set up this winter in the basement. I will say that it has a great feeling grip.
-
The '63 dogleg is one on my favorite old bears!
-
I'll shoot mine on 1/1/2013 for its 50th.
-
I was shooting my '63 today and was thinking the whole time how this bow shoots better than a lot of custom bows that I paid a whole lot more for.
-
I had one that I could shoot great w an elevated rest (any kind), but could not get good arrow flight off the shelf, and I tried hard.
I had the same problem w a 2010 Super Kodiak. Every other Bear bow I have ever had (oodles from '58 on) shoots fine off the shelf for me.

Woot 63's are 50! Just received my second 63, a grizzly from a member. Groovy green glass. Have yet to shoot it, but the string is on, stretching. Uncanny thing is while looking up 63 grizzlies on tradgang i came upon a photo of my bow!

There is a sweet looking 63 on the bay right now.

The 1963 Kodiak is next on my list of bows to buy. Over the past few months I have purchased a 1957 - Thanks Lon! 1959, 1962 & 1965 Kodiaks.
