I'm guessing it's a 71, but just want to be sure. I won it on the big auction site the other day. Supposedly the only mark is very small by the coin in the pic, I hope it's as nice as was advertised as it will be a wall hanger in my living room.
Thanks guys,
Dan

Hello Dan d
I have no experience with the "Super Magnums" so I am not an authority by any means. That said; looking at the Bear catalogs your bow appears to be consistent with the descriptions of both 1971 and 1972. hope this helps

Thanks pack animal !
I have been googling for sites & trying to learn the numbering system, but I cannot figure it out.

i believe they started the "K" series of serial number in 1970 from what i have read. and since the super mag 48 was made from 66-76 that would put it between 70-76, does it have the 53 patent date on it?(they stopped putting that on there in 72)and seeing as the coin is flush and is silver that would date it around 71-72 so i agree with pack animal......( and i read all this information so i don't no if its all 100% accurate)

Both the raised coin and US patent came about mid year 72. I have owned 1972 Bears that have had flat coins and Canadian patents and likewise raised coins and US patent. The Super Magnum silkscreen is on the belly. It is a 1972.

Thanks Guys !
It does not have the 53 patent decal Jmwebb85
Thanks Jack for nailing it to an exact date !
I see there are a lot of little clues that go into this, I knew about the flush coin ending in 72, but I was not aware of the patent decal change, nor the silkscreen on the belly clue.
Thanks again !
Dan
