Title: Jim Brackenbury Drifter

I have a nice signed Jim Brackenbury Drifter ; 64" and 57# at 30"...is it considered collectible by anybody but me...just wondering...thanks ; Doug

I'm sure there are a few collectors of original Brack bows, especially here in the northwest.  At a recent Western States Rendezvous in Oregon, a special event called for archers to use only Brack bows for special awards.  BTW, the WSR was begun by Jim.  

I know that Wes Wallace (who used to work for Jim) has a collection of his bows.

My son has one I gave him.  Best I remember Jim signed all his bows.  The one I purchased was a stock bow and signed.

Jim's bows are hard shooting bows.

The Shadow from Jim and the Mentor from Wes. Both excellent shooting bows. Wes was the bowyer for Jim at one time. Limb tips are similar but Jim's limbs are wide and cast an arrow very nicely. It's always nice to have an original Brackenbury. I believe Jims wife carried on the business after his passing and still making bows under the name. No Larry Jims wife did not carry on the business , she made strings and still does , they were divorced before Jim died.
The business went to Jims step sister and her son Gordon Porter ran it , then he sold to Bill Howland who still makes the Brackenbury line.

I've bought quite a few strings from Linda Brackenbury...she does a great job ...

yes, her strings are top notch.  I've also had a couple of Bill Howland's Brack bows and they are first rate as well.
