Title: Wondering, sell or keep
Post by: Yelloweye on July 30, 2012, 09:32:00 AM
I have a Bear Cub, from what info. I have found it’s a 1955-1959 tillered chesty 50#, 62".
Wondering if I should keep it or if it is better in the hands of a collector. I shoot a recurve ,not sure about the long bow. May be a collector in my area would appreciate it more. It’s in pretty good shape. If I keep it I might refinish it just to be sure its ok for weather during hunting, would this ruin the value of the bow for a collector?

The Bear Cubs don't seem to carry a lot of value among collectors. You can check the completed listing on the auction site for a similar one and get a idea what it may be worth.

With all due respect collectors mostly care about Kodiaks; refinishing the bow won't hurt. It is more fun to shoot than to 'baby' it.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for.
Too see if this was valuable to a collector, but not so much dollar wise for selling, more of a respect thing for what it is. Looks really good no problem to shoot, maybe its a sign to try a long bow.
