Which year model is the most desirable as far as smoothness, finish?
I currently own both a '73 and a '76. Really like both of them. They just fit my style so well.
Would like to come up with a 3rd one in the #45-#50 @ 28" range, and am wondering which year model I need to set my sights on.
Thanks

Another vote for 62 k mag,and the 69 tigerwood with black tips 2nd.

Actually I have a fondness for all those K-mags from the 60's, but the 62 is a real sweetie. ;)

Sounds like '62 is a consensus. Any ideas where to start looking for a LH in the #45-#50 range?

I've tried them all. Another vote for the '62.

Well, I guess my search has officially started. If any of you come across one, I would really appreciate a heads up.
Thanks

My fave is a 1964.

Check out some of the others as well like, 1965. 1966 and 1967. They are all nice having curved stripes in the riser.

Thanks Horney Toad. Will do.

So took Horney Toad's advice and started looking around. Realized I haven't the foggiest idea what I should be looking for. What exactly makes a '62 identifiable as a '62?

I have a copy of all the Bear catalogs, I hear this is on a CD now. This would be good for you to have, and would answer many questions.

Ken613,
The '62 has a rosewood riser with gray glass and pointed limb tips. The 64-67 were curved stripes and can be identified by the serial number. First digit 5-65, 6-66, 7-67. Any other number a 64. I have three 66 Magnums and none of the grips fit my hand well so I don't know if it was a change made that year or just the way the final shaping was done on the ones I have. The 64s, 65s and 67 I have owned were all a better fit.
