Title: Opinion appreciated
Post by: Stormer on May 12, 2012, 08:36:00 PM
I have a pretty much mint Grizzly 9Cf142 64?? Zebrawood with orange limbtips.
It is signed Ted Nugent 91.Does this signature make it more of a keeper.

I have a 64 Lady Polar signed by Ted...in black marker that just fades like Ted's hunting morals...I gave it to my son who still enjoys Ted"s music.
As you guessed, I feel it adds no value...

I would burn anything that Ted signed as he is not at all a benefit to any of us in the archery world. He is nothing but a black eye to the archery world.

Please explain the black eye to the archery world. You must have some serious facts to feel so strongly about his non contribution to hunting and archery. Jim

Dont beleive everything the national news media puts out.

In fact, I pretty much don't believe anything the media puts out.

Ted is an entertainer who also enjoys making very political comments.  He's not alone in that regard within the entertainment world.    He's also made some mistakes. His become very public.  Ours tend not to.

In terms of the bow, tough call if it helps or hurts value.  Depends on who is being asked I would think.  On the average I would guess it doesn't do much.

Ted's signature would add no real value for me. I am sure that enough support is out there to move your grizzly if that is what your after.    :o

Maybe if it was one of his old 8 tracks signed by Ted. But Ted never made bows just music.

I really like Ted - however, his connection to trad archery is tenuous at best. Just my opinion - I'd say the signature neither hurts nor helps the value. If I had that bow, I'd probably just wash it off.

I have limited knowledge about Ted but I think I like him also. Well cool, a good example of a bad deed he did. I have heard about Ted and some other famous archers throughout history taking some pretty unethical shots. They all have received great fame from making those shots. It is sad Ted wounded an animal and then went and got another.

Many thanks for comments.Down my end of the world I am a bit removed from what could be the grassroots opinions on this person who signed the Grizz. The bow is in my Bear collectables not as a seller its to mint.I think a little controversy makes it a keeper.
Thanks again
