85 year old Dick Mauch, on Saturday evening, February 25, 2012, at the Nebraska Traditional Archers Banquet, looking at his display for the first time. Photograph taken by Dick's wife, Carol Mauch, a very accomplished bowhunter in her own right.

Been planning this display since last fall when Dick gave me his 1968 Bear T/D Prototype w/ Walnut I-Beam. Started putting it together over the past few months. Like every display I've ever made, it is always changing as new ideas come forward. If anyone has any suggestions that might improve the display, let me know. It was shown for the first time at the Nebraska Traditional Archers Banquet on February 25, the following weekend at the Nebraska Bowhunters Banquet on March 2 & 3. It will be at the Compton Traditional Bowhunters Rendezvous in June 2012, so everyone can see it there.
The Nebraska Archery & Bowhunting Hall of Fame Display for Dick Mauch contains some early Bear Take Downs and some seldom seen photographs.
1) 1968 Bear T/D Prototype, Walnut I-Beam, one of three made, used by Dick Mauch in Africa 1968.
2) 1969 Bear T/D Pre-Production, Walnut w/ Black Accent Strip, one of five made.
3) 1969 Bear T/D Type I, A-2038
4) 1969 Bear T/D C-1100
5) Dick's 1959-1960 P&Y Award for his one time World Record Wyoming Moose & photograph of him with the moose.

I wonder if there will ever be a company that holds so many precious memories as Bear Archery and the people involved and the lives it touched, do you suppose Fred ever sat in his office thinking about how his products would be admired year after year, i get ribbed a lot from my wheelie friends about my obsession with the older Bears i collect and have and i just keep smilin inside hoping they will never catch on so i can keep buying them up lol
-
Good point Armand. It is a company that lives on. It has to do with how Fred Bear acted, he is so revered and respected.
I also enjoy guitars, and would have to say Martin is a similar compant to many guitar players. An old company that has mostly been run well and is still family run.

Great catch!!! You get a star for today and can go to the head of the class.
Guess this old brain just knew the month had changed and typed in March rather than February.
Obviously it was February 25th. I changed the date on the first post of the thread so others are not confused. Thanks for the great proof reading.

Thanks so much for posting it for me Rich!
