Title: Fred Bear bow question
Post by: Robertfishes on February 29, 2012, 06:25:00 PM
What bow is Fred holding in this pic? I have always liked the looks of it.   (http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt46/Robertfishes/FredBearpic2.jpg)

Somebody else will hopefully give you the correct answer, but it is a Bear Kodiak, and it would likely be a model from whatever year he shot his Dall Sheep. He shot his Stone Sheep in 1957, and my best guess for the Dall would be 1958 (a Little Delta hunt?). I don't have access to any documents/books right now, but this should serve as a temporary answer until someone verifies the correct year. The bow is definately a Bear Kodiak though.

Misaukee you are correct. Fred shot the dall sheep in 1958. Fred and the gang hunted the little delta in 58 and 59. I would have to venture a guess of a 58 kodiak due to the fact that in the group photo for 1959 everyone is clearly shooting 59 kodiaks and both hunts were conducted around the same time of year. I know it's not concrete but that is my best guess.
