Title: 59 handle and tip over lays
Post by: turkey522 on February 16, 2012, 11:04:00 AM
What thickness does everyone use.All I can find is 1/16" and appears to be a lot thicker than the old over lays.Anyone know were I can get some about .030 thick.

I just sand then down to desired thickness.  Works good for glass, have not tried micarta.

Micarta sands just like glass does. Someone here sells micarta in paper thicknesses unless I am mistaken-anybody know who?

Thanks for the responses everyone.I thought about sanding it,but keeping the thickness uniform I was worried about.Bjorn was it Kirk that was making tip material that Bow Doc was testing. Thanks Chuck,I found a supplier for the core tuff.
I used phenbolic on the tips, may try sanding a piece to see how it turns out. Thanks for the help everyone. Terry
