A friend of mine gave me this old recurve.
It shoots sweet. It's 50# and is 54".
I don't know who made it or what model it is.
Has a unique riser design.
Does anyone have a clue as to its identification?
The link below will get you to the pictures.
Thanks for any inputs.

STAGHORN
Made by Bill Pyle

That's not like any Staghorn I've owned, sold or seen?
-
WOW,, That bow has curves in places other bows don't even have places..Really neat.. Considering what looks like Brazilian rosewood, I am guessing very early 60's..
That thing would be drop dead gorgeous refinished

I have one that looks just like it, but not in rosewood.
-
I might tackle refinishing it.
It has one crack near the tips, along one of the sting grooves. I'm studying the Restoration 101 series.
Looks challenging.
Papalapin,
I haven't seen any other bow that looks like it.
Does your have any other markings on it?
Do you have any pics?
What year is yours?
I'm not sure if this has been repainted.
Appears as if the glass is green in color painted over with brown.

Well, after taking the bow to a few bow shops,
they didn't have a clue. Maybe a 1950's bow.
I asked on to look at a crack near the string grooves. He said "Looks like the paint is cracked".
Well, I took it the next day and at about the 10th shot, I heard a CRACK followed by a DOIIINNNNGGG.
Enough said.
I'm thinking about just redoing the limbs, since the riser is so unique.
Other than that any ideas on what I could use it for?
Thanks
Bill
