Anyone know anything about vintage Bill Stewart bows ? I have a one piece that looks very similar to a Wing bow I had in the 60's. Serial # is 00063 and has Bills signature and his Bill Stewart logo on it .... Many thanks, Ken

They were great shooters...a friend in Maryland (Phil) had/has one and it was quite the looker and a very good shooter. I always thought I would have one of his multi-cam limb recurves but never happened...and now he is gone. You see them on classifieds every now and then but people tend to hold on to them.
Smooth draw and seemed much lighter than actual draw weight from what I remember.
keep em sharp,

Reason it looks very similar to a Wing is Bill worked for Wing Archery, Div of Head Ski.

I have the multi cam recurve and have taken several critters with it, great shooter with excellent performance, I also had the longbow but sold it to a very happy guy in California a few years back.
I went over and met Bill before he passed. I had him alter my recurve riser and then make me a riser for the LB limbs. He was very stubborn about getting my riser too small. Now that I shoot LB's more I find that I like his version just fine.
Thanks for the info Kelly. I shot my first deer with that Wing bow.

I haven't figured out how to put multiple pics in the same frame yet but here are a few pics.
I plan on donating this bow to the TBW at this years banquet
Thanks for any help
-
elkken,
Is the bow for sale?
-
Ken graciously :notworthy: donated it to the Traditional Bowhunters of Washington and it auctioned off last night. What a beauty! ;)
I was in the bidding for a short while, but my wife was sitting next to me which ended my glee.
Another tradganger and Bill Stewart fan won the bid.

Can anyone tell me if this is a Bill Stewart logo?

:dunno:
If not one of Bill's, how about Leon Stewart? He's been making bows about 50 years...and still does I think.
-
Lon,
Thanks, according to Leon's web page he has been making bows for 30 years and I think this one is a bit older.

Oops.. my apologies to Mr. Stewart. None of us want to be thought of as older than dirt, huh?
Jack, can you show a full pic of the bow? I know a couple Bill Stewart fans/collectors who may have an opinion.
-
Lon,
It's the dual shelf one in this thread.
