Post by: 2 Barrels on January 24, 2012, 08:08:00 PM
Hi, Guy's i'm not really a collector as much as i am a gatherer. Not sure i spelled that right. But my question is what is the best bear bow or bows from 1968.I'm sure there will be differing opinions. But i'd like to hear what you think. Thanks Jim

Search for 1968 or 1969 Super Kodiak. They look the same.

I'll incur the wrath of the Super Kodiak group, and state that the 1968 Bear HUNTER (Bubinga), is the smoothest, fastest handeling Bear of that year. Mine feels like it was molded in Heaven and sent down to earth, to make it's journey over the decades... to me, just to hunt with.

Here's my favorite. It's my 68' SK in a 64" 55#. It is silky smooth only problem is it is in such good shape I hate to drag it out in the woods.       (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd251/bens5218/004-3.jpg)               (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd251/bens5218/002-4.jpg)        (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd251/bens5218/003-3.jpg)          (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd251/bens5218/006-4.jpg)

Heres my favorite bear it is either a 68 or 69 Kodiak Hunter I'm not sure,(no data on it),...its not the smoothest bear I've ever shot,(that was a 69 Super Kodiak, nor the prettiest.  But this bow feels the best...echoing Hit-or-Misss...it feels as if it was molded to my hand... Wow those are some beautiful bow's guy's.Is the phenolic riser on the super kodiak common?I like a bow with alot of mass weight. In case your wondering i was born in 68.I got a A mag takedown a few weeks ago kinda on a whim.I never really gave these older bow's much thought. But i really like the takedown. And at sometime would like to add a Bear from 68 to my pile. Thanks again for all your input guy's. Jim
