Title: Bear Alaskan
Post by: park on January 14, 2012, 08:25:00 PM
Hi im trying to find out how much i should pay for a mid 50s bear alaskan longbow? The bow is in great shape. The serial # is RA614.The bow is 62" and 44#.Was this bow made for people with a short draw length because 62" seems short for a longbow of that era.I have a 291/2" draw length so I dont know if it would work? Thanks

The Alaskan semi recurve was 1958-61 The 58 was dual shelf gray glass while the 59/60s were dual shelf orange glass belly and black glass back.   The 61 was single shelf. Here is a 59-60 that sold recently.

I have 2 of the black and orange ones.  I really enjoy them.  My draw is not as long as yours but I wouldn't think you'd have a problem.  Some folks complain about handshock with them but I find mine to be smooth enjoyable bows that really perform for the money.
