Title: Experimental Grizzly
Post by: OldSkoolArcher on January 11, 2012, 07:24:00 PM
Possibly a prototype for the 1973 Grizzly's.  Olive Green Glass. I am not sure if Bear ever used this color of glass on any production bows.

That's a neat bow. I have soft spot for green/black risers on the Grizzly. My Granddad finished his hunting career with a one in 45#.

It's almost like the old Pearson target bow colors.  I never saw a Bear in that color before.  Nice looking bows!

Thanks Doc. I have unloaded alot of my Bears lately and have been on the hunt for odd and unusual stuff or bows with wild pieces of wood.

Nick,  Great find.  It looks like it is in "mint" condition.

I like the looks for sure.

The bow has it's fair share of honest use marks, but overall it is quite nice. The previous owner used it as a bow and I don't think they realized it was most likely a one of a kind!

I think those colors look great together, I wish they had put that glass into production!

Could have been a Super Grizzly prototype.

Is the arrow shelf lower than usual also?

Yes, the shelf is cut lower than they normally are.
