A buddy bought a zebrawood Tigercat and it had me looking around at all the Bear bows in Zebrawood and found quite a few.
Is there a list of all Bear bows with all Zebrawood risers?
and the years, lengths, etc??
God Bless
Steve

Not sure there is a list Steve. I have definitely seen some nice looking Tigercats in zebrawood but I don't know the years.
1964 and 1965 Grizzly also. 58" AMO.
I am not much use outside of Grizzlies.

'64 and '65 Grizzly 58"
'67.5 Kodiak Hunter (Pretty Darn Rare, only a few made) 58"
Various years of Little Bears 48"
'61 Kodiak Special 63", 66", 69"
'66 Bearcat 66"
'67 Tigercat (I believe there might have been another year also, but can't remember at least I have seen them with brown and black glass.) 62"

Also, Not saying that is all of them. Just what I know of offhand.
-
Steve,
I believe the zebrawood Cub I have is a '64. I'll try and get some pictures to you tomorrow.

I have a Bear Tigercat in zebrawood. It's 62" long and 36#. I believe it is from 1969, maybe someone can confirm that. The serial number is 8N4979. It has black glass. This is a bow my brother and I shot as kids and my kids will be shooting it in a few more years. It's fun to see these older bows being used.

Nice Zebra herd Shep!

Interesting thing on the Tigercat is I just saw one with a 7 prefix and the one my friend has has an 8 prefix but Ive seen 7 prefix ones that were NOT zebrawood..........one of the reasons I asked. Think the info on Al's page or some list my friend has says the 67s only and he didnt believe me when I found the 68 till it got here.
JJB, yours appears to be a 1968 as well.
NEAT BOWS GUYS and Thanks!

The tigercats and some other "lower" end bows were made from random pieces of wood and random colored glass. So there are all different types of possiblities for different years.

Still looking for a zebrawood Alaskan and gave up on a Kodiak Hunter in zebrawood. :^(
Anyone ever see a Bear Black Bear in zebrawood. All the ones I have seen are seduah or maple.

I once owned a '65 Cub with beautiful Zebrawood, and of course that great 1962 Grizzly had it in the sight window.
As a note, it appears that the mid 60's was a favorite time for many to use Zebrawood. I have owned Ben Pearsons and Shakespeares from that era with that greatly figured wood and know of others using it also.

Wow....some very nice bows in the pics here.
Steve,
I think the catalogs read "Various Hardwoods" or something to that effect for the Tigercat in some years. This supports OldSkoolArcher's comments.

Picked up a 67 tigercat. 7N261 62" 52#. Just picked it up from bowdoc at elk camp.
Looks nothin like Sheps pile of beautys. Any info would be great. Postin pics on this computer is not very user friendly. Look forward to see more.

Lon,

Not sure if this one got listed and I missed it, but here is a pic to add anyway. I have two of these 63 Polars, both 66 inches, one left handed and the other right.

Sorry, have not posted here for a while and forgot to resize the pic which is one of the reasons I have not posted here for a while.

So these were bows that probably sold new for under 50 dollars and not only do they include bubinga and zebrawood, it is in an i-beam construction.

Nice group of bows Shep! ;)

That Zebrawood Grizz is hitting the woods again this year.
-
I may be wrong but I would bet an important body part of mine that I saw a zebra wood kodiak magnum in one of the old bear catalogs. It may have been a one off custom, as I have never seen one for sale anywhere or have heard of one being found.... but I would be willing to bet that there has to be a few out there....
