I'm thinking about checking out a bow listed on CL. The seller seems to be a real jerk and refused to answer any questions about the bow because "it's more than he's willing to do". He said I can come look at it and see for myself. All I have to go by are the crappy pics that he posted and the fact that he says he bought it in 1961. Can anybody tell from the pics what this is? I really don't want to deal with this guy unless this is something that I would be dumb to pass on.

Looks like a Stemmler, some will say Indian but I believe it is a Stemmler.

Thanks wadde. I just searched Stemmler here and found a post from btjohnson from April with the same pics:

Looks like he got a little more info than I did.
Sorry I didn't find this post before.
I'm going to pass on the bow.

I am still waiting for definitive proof on if these are Indians or Stemmlers. Jim

The one pictured is definately a Stemmler. I have had several that had the same overlays and were marked Stemmler. When I ever get time to dig through the stable I will post pics of one with the Stemmler markings. That could be awhile though.
