Greetings, all. I have been lurking here for a couple of years, and have learned a lot from all of you polite, knowledgeable, and friendly people who post. As I have little to no expertise,I was quite content to read and learn from all of you.
My question to anyone who may know: I recently acquired in trade a Pearson Mustang, Model 717. I believe this bow was made in the 60's, based on the 3 digit Model number and serial number(17-44), but I am not certain. It's in great shape, with no scrapes, holes, or stress lines in the glass, with all decals and writing crisp and clear (60" recurve, brown glass back and belly, with a long riser that appears to be shedua, three pieces laminated, side to side). Anyway, I'm trying to determine the correct brace height range. I currently have it braced at 7 3/4" though the guy I got it from had a 56" endless string on it, and said it should be braced "high." (He had it at 9 3/4" and that seemed way too high to me). The factory specs written on the riser say xx50# @ 28" and at the 7 3/4" brace it pulls 49# @ 28". Any ideas on the proper brace height?

I had one this winter and shot it at 7 1/2 to 7 3/4" and it was very quiet and quick. It was hard to get rid of since it shot so good. A good friend of mine wanted it, so I traded it to him. It shot very much like my Mercury Marauder and Mercury Hunters. Your going to be very happy with it.
