I have heard good things about this bow and was considering a 56" bow for tight quarters hunting and ground hunting.
Can anyone tell me more about the attributes of this bow good or bad as well as those of the bowyer?
Also, average lead times...prices...options etc. I tried to log onto his website, but alot of the links weren't working for me. Thanks!

He doesn't have a website, but Pete Ward has done some reviews.
If you drop Joe Skipp a note (PM or email, he is a sponsor on this site) he'll be able to answer any questions you might have.
I've shot a few KS's...definately on my short list...a good, stable, easy to shoot bow that performs extremely well.
If you do some searches for Kwyk Styk or Kempf you'll get a bunch of hits with pics, as well.

AS the owner of the Kwik-Styk Pete did the review on I can say they are a very sweet shooting bow. Jack does excellent work! I know he has been very busy lately with orders, so the best way to find out the info on build times and prices would be to contact him. Jack can be reached at [email protected]
or by phone@1-780-467-3939. I am sure he would be pleased to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks Pat!

Mark,
I have a 60" KS that is 55@29". The finish and fit are outstanding, and it is right at the top as far as smoothness of draw goes. Although I haven't put it through a chronograph yet, it is quick and plenty quiet. Pat is dead on when she says they are sweet shooting bows, there are a couple of other members here, Shawn and Curt that may chime in with their opinions, but they won't be much different than what you've seen here so far. Joe Skipp will also have good things to say, again, they are all dead on as far as I am concerned. I guess you could say that I am pretty happy with my KS. :archer:

Pete, couldn't get it to work. It took me to his site, but none of the pics loaded.
David, Yeah Joe has sent me some pics and has been giving me some info about them. Thanks!
Anyone here shoot the 56" and have an opinion? I normally shoot a 60" curve but am looking for a sweet shooting "short" bow that I can use for tight quarters brushy stillhunting areas or out of blinds perhaps.
Also, would like opinions on the static tips vs. the standard tip limbs?
Thanks guys.

Marc,
If Joe sent you pics he probably sent pics of mine and Shawn's.
I have the static tips on mine, and have shot Shawn's static tip, both are buttery smooth. I haven't shot the standard tips, though I believe that is what Curt has. I'll try to get Shawn in here this evening, as he has a 56" KS.
Take care,
David

I'm shooting Shawn's KS currently and it is a sweet bow. I draw the standard 27.5/28, but can see no reason why this wouldn't get back another couple without any issues.
All the ones I've shot had static tips and all performed very well (a 56" and 58"). They perform very well, point easily and feel good in the hand...strangely, they look pretty slim, as well for a static tipped recurve with a 7.5ish brace...really nice all around package
Try Pete's link in IE, if you haven't already...it is a bit finicky, but should work.
Shawn -- she smokes those 2000's man!!!

I just put a new FF string on the Kwik Styk here in my shop. Brian shot this one last weekend and it smokes an arrow. This new string makes the bow even quieter than the Dynaflyte 97 I had on there. At 51# it handles both 2016's and 2117's really nice.

I shot the bow Joe has in his shop and it pointed extremely well , the grip is one of the best I felt and the bow shot great. Workmanship was flawless. As a matter of fact I told Joe that if the owner ever wants to sell it I wanted dibbs on it.

Fred, we are gonna have to wrestle for it ;)
I agree with Fred on all points...a nice bow, for sure. I was shooting that bow at 35+ yards and had no trouble with plate sized or smaller targets...a shooter to say the least.
-
Brian, I think Shawn's is a better fit for you with your bad shoulder and all. :)
-
Wow, well it sounds like you guys all seem to love the ones you have or have shot. Guess I just need to go and order one now!LOL
-
Slayer, I've been trying to get these guys to get one of these for a while...they're finally coming around! :biglaugh:
Definately the easiest to shoot bow I've ever shot, AND they're FAST!!!
-
Thanks guys I think I am gonna either order the 56" or 58" Kwyk Styk.
-
Yup,, I have two and love them both. I like the staic tips and I brace both my 56" bows at 7-3/4". The bows with the regular tips like 7-1/2"s best. The only advice I would give is do not get the horn overlays on the limb tips, they are bulky and rob ya of a lot of performance, great bows!! Shawn

I also own a Jack Kemph bow mine is a Stealth Hunter I was so Impressed on the fit and finish and the way Jacks bows shoot that I ordered a 58"Kwik Stick which I hope to get soon Kemph bows are of the best Custom bows out there
