I know it probably won't be what we all would approve of, but it looks like Bass Pro in Springfield is at least doing "something" with the old stuff. I live close by, I'll keep you posted....

The wall mural is really nice, it's about 10 ft wide by 7 ft tall.
I'm curious about this bow in Fred's hand though. It looked like a '59-'62 model, but the coin is on the wrong side (and below the handle)and to my knowledge the quiver is mounted upside down. And, more importantly, the quiver is mounted for a right hand bow.
It was titled "A Bear Hunt" and was made in 2006.

Yep a few screw ups there. Jim

I went through Springfield last month and saw the "museum" under construction. I'm grateful that it exists, of course, but as usual they're going to get things wrong. The people putting it together are more likely interior decorators, you know, "artistes", rather than archery historians.
It looks like they hired a second rate painter, those guys don't look like their likeness.
-
The painting of Fred is awful. Good to see they're doing something though. Hope they work out the details, thats what history is all about.
-
Was the painting done in China and then shipped over here????
-
Looks like BP needs to QC its commissioned work.
-
Fred is not done any worse than the rest LOL and 99% plus of their customers won't know or care anyway.
-
Wonder if Dean Torges, saw his pic?

Remember this guy? This was on eB@Y as "Fred Bear" a couple of years ago.

Reminds me of The Gong Show (1976 - 78), an amateur talent show, with ridiculous prizes...
-
I've heard they bought all of the old films from Bear Archery several years ago. Sure hope they cut em on DVD for sale.
-

Just another thing I miss when I'm deployed a year at a time. The world does not wait on me.
