Title: Resources to ID bows
Post by: owlbait on July 18, 2011, 03:42:00 PM
When the members here can't ID a bow for you, where do you go to get that information? My buddy KHALVERSON has a bow post on the trad history forum that hasn't been able to be identified yet. His boy got it from a yard sale. Neat dual shelf, metal riser takedown that shoots fairly well. Where would a person go to try to ID the age and manufacturer of this bow? He isn't interested in value, just in the history.
Thanks, Mike Gerard  owlbait

Try posting the info (include pics if at all possible) on the collecting/history forum here.

There are also plenty of "historians" on the *********** at stickbow.com where folks like George Stout hang out now that he no longer posts here.

I love mysteries involving the idenity of an old bow.

Thanks Lon. It is posted here on the collecting &history forum but no replies in over a week. Usually those guys are right on it. I'll suggest to Kevin to post over on ***********. I no longer am able to post over there.
