my son found this cool dual shelf recurve at a yard sale today
looks to be a 60 in bow
mag or aluminum riser
looks like maple cores with white glass limbs
as far as i can tell
the limbs have 3 allen head screws to attach to riser
anyone have an idea who the manufacture of this bow was
thanks in advance

From what I hear it is a good shooter, eh? Hopefully someone will come along to help you out.

Looks cool Kevin, i have seen a few over the years but I have no idea what it is. Nice find for the boy.

Really good shooter Kevin, thanks for letting me take a look at it. You shoot it well enough to hunt with it. I wonder who made it and how old it is. :dunno:

Kevin, did you decide to take some paint off those limbs to see if there was info underneath? Did you decide if those were numbers that we saw on the edge of the limb? Maybe post it on Pow-Wow too.

Mystery bow back to the top!

Just a thought but the mystery may be easily solved with a rag and a bit of fingernail polish remove. If there are no manufacture markings the only thing lost is a little elbow grease and a camo paint job.
-
Thanks Jack. I think Kevin is getting closer to that way of thinking. It has a nice flat camo paint on it and I think he was considering leaving it to hunt with. How many takedowns were made with 3 allen heads holding the limbs sandwiched in the riser like that?
-
Mike,
Wish I could help on the ID but I don't have a clue.
-
Thanks Mike. I talked to Kevin today and he was able to access that forum and thinks you nailed it. Neat to know that a Michigan made bow, that seems obscure, and that old, can still shoot so well. Apparently his son didn't want to take the camo paint off so it made identification harder. Thought for sure the pros on this forum would be able to ID it quicker!

Looks alot like one of my OLD GRIMES! The dual shelves look somewhat identical, bolt location with 3 bolts and overall profile about the same, except riser has a different profile. mine has brown glass also.
GOOD LUCK!

I found a dozen Micro-flite #9 arrows in a Ben Pearson box at a local antique shop for $35. They look like they have never been shot, but three are missing the insert/point adapter. Not real familiar with these, is there an insert that will work with them? Thanks.

Sorry about that. Forgot to hit new thread.
