Ok I really appreciate UPS's efficiency with deliveries but today they've go too far! My order from 3 Rivers Archery was scheduled for delivery today. UPS could have done their normal thing and delivered it mid day or in the afternoon while I was already at work. But NOOOOOOO they didn't do that and had to deliver my package this morning 30 minutes before I usually leave for work. :knothead:
Call in sick.
You've got something to look forward to after work. Work then play! It will wait. I know that wasn't what you wanted to hear.
Yeah I went to work. :(
Count yourself luck - the last 3Rivers package UPS delivered to me was cut in half ! They only delivered half the box.
Since then 3Rivers has shipped all my stuff USPS :)
3Rivers has shipped all my stuff USPS brown have never brought me anything from 3rivers
ditto
Ok I think I have an answer to Return's delema.
Bring your new toys to work with ya. Get paid while you play with your new toys! Thats what I do. The boss is none the wiser.
The other day I was in my shop working and heard a box hit the ground and a truck drive off.
I looked out and there was a long box (leather) laying in the driveway....
The driver just threw the bow over the fence, The only reeason I knew it was there was hearing it hit the ground....
I walked out and put the box on my shoulder and started walking back to my shop shaking my head, the driver stoped and ask if there was something wrong....
I just keeped shaking my head and walked off....
Yes it was a Brown truck....
I prefer USPS Priority mail, it's all that I use here at M.A.L.
"Brown Santa" brought a package on monday (something the wife ordered)that was torn open and completely empty.
I watched a UPS driver kick a package from the front of his truck to the back end and toss several others. I "spoke" to him, as I was really upset that someone may be getting a broken something. No response from Mr. Brown.

I Agree, "CALL IN SICK"! :archer: :goldtooth:
My "brown" driver that delivers to my place of business and I are buddies. He handles packages like everyone here has already mentioned. When I give him a hard time about it, he looks at me like I've got two heads. I think it's entertainment for them to get through the day. Nothing but USPS Priority for me personally.
6 more hours before toy time.
I've had UPS deliver my packages to the wrong address twice. And it didn't go to the next door neighbor, it went to the same house number 1/2 a mile away!
If I have a choice I always send and receive via USPS.
I got a package from the "Brown Clown" today. A new bow!!! a couple of months ago they delivered my new Gibson mandolin that was broke in shipping.
They paid for the repairs but it still leaves a bad feeling towards them.
This thread isn't worth much without a list of the toys!
Brown delivered my last two packages to my neighbors too. I always use and ask for USPS when possible.
I've got a new concert guitar coming and a new pignut longbow. if they break either one I'll kick some butt. This work play thing? I was missing too much play time, so I only play now.

Nothing fancy or to drool over. Since I was out of archery for 20 years and gave all my stuff to my brother, I've got to start over. The toys to use with a loaner red wing hunter bow (thanks Joel) include stringer, cedar arrow test set, string silencer stuff, etc.... Just mundane stuff you need but still makes me feel like a kid waiting on Christmas. :D
I dont do the Brown Pile.
Ok Vermon, I'll list mine. A new Stotler Gamegetter Elite. Tiger & Zebra wood Riser with Juniper limbs. 65lbs @ my draw length. Great shootin bow. Its a proto-type of Dans new design. I will try to get pictures out tomorrow.
USPS for sure. Friend owns a jewelry store had UPS deliver a empty box was supposed to have a 13 thousand dollar engagement ring inside. He is still fighting them over the INSURED package almost two years later!!
True story... I just received my Horne's Traditionalist from Mark and Sandy. UPS it came around 5-5:30 PM [MOMMA answered the door and accepted it. . I looked at the tube when i came home and almost puked!!! THANK GOD it was in a tube it had a tire track maybe a highlow tire track on the crushed tube ,the metal cap was crushed had to pull it out with a visegrip. I was sick took the bow out and went over every inch with a magnifying glass bow was perfect.I can tell you this UPS is terrible! BUT around the holidays they hire cheap x-mas help and this is what happens. There are alot of bowyers out there that will not use them. They are terrible!!! Wait until i can post some pictures.Sorry to do this to your thread but I had to vent!I mail a bunch of bows and I use USPS good old United States Post Office a little slower but never a problem.
guess i better stay out of this one. there are MANY brown drivers (myself) who strive to do the right thing and are very proud of what they do. :readit:
I've never had a problem with UPS myself in 20+ years of using them. Our drivers have even brought packages in to our house when they were too heavy/bulky for my wife to handle. I'm just belly aching out of jest.
Well then use FedEx and UPS. Then you can be FEDUP
I would just like to thank all the good drivers out there ( Ken ) . They do care and want to deliver packages in good shape :0) Thanks Ken . Drew
UPS has come to my house every day this week I need to give this guy a xmas gift being that he walks my 120 yard drivweway twice a day ever day LOL.
Our local UPS driver is one of my best friends. He is a great guy and great bowhunter and my steady hunting pard. However...I too have seen him move boxes from the front of the truck to the back with his foot, kick by kick. I give him heck about it and he tells me its hard to wrestle around with them in the narrow walkway in the truck. Most of the stuff he is delivering is pretty much bullet proof. Boxes of paper, hard goods etc, so I don't mind if he kicks it around a little. Couple years ago, I ordered a metal cut band saw that was "just" under their weight limit and had it UPS'd instead of drop shipped, just for my pal. When it arrived, the box it was in looked like it had just got back from Iraq. I didn't run out to help him like I usually do either. I thought it was a pretty good joke till he made me wash dishes all hunting season.
