Looking on the back of a package of Bear bowfishing string it has a notation of a "Bear Gobble Box" 7916
String is from Gainsville if that helps.
Anyone have info on these? Bear MAKE em or were they someone else's bear sold?
Photos?
God Bless

Bear Archery in Grayling, sold a box call and Trough Call in the 70's or early 80's. The Trough Call & Twin - Hen, have Lee Calls, Inc. of Coffeeville, Ala. engraved on them, both were signed by Ben Lee on the bottom. No date or number on either. Bear Archery may have sold other calls, I do not recall. Ben Rogers Lee, won the World Championship Turkey Calling five times, then built his own company & calls. He died in an auto accident in the 80's.

This page from the 1981 Bear catalog shows the "Gobble Box" as one of a line of Ben Lee calls marketed by Bear.

There also was a Fred Bear "Signature" Box call made, which was much more limited in availability and thus is much more valued by collectors today...going for as much as $350 at auctions.
