Title: initial impressions

of my new-to-me 60" & 47@28 Browning Safari. It seems to like about 7-5/8 to 7-3/4s of brace. It sends 29" 2016s & 1916s toward the target with some authority. It's fun & easy to shoot and I might have to attempt a deer kill with it this fall. All in all, a nice shooter. Glad that I bought it!

looking to acquire one , but 54".i have read nothing but good thinds, look like well made bows, had a wasp a few years back that shot well for a short bow.

I acquired a 54" safari 1 not to long ago. I am impressed with its shootability and speed. At 50 lbs its a bit light for my liking.

I have the Safari II...60" I think...50#...Sweet shooter

I'm a fan of the Browning recurves.  If someone held a gun to my head and said I could only keep one in my stable that would be my Browning.  

Have been keeping my eye out for a Safari at my price.

In 1968 I saw a bunch of new Browning bows in a sport shop in Blue Earth, MN and immediately knew I was hooked on archery!  They are such great looking bows.

I shot my friend's 50# Safari II a few weeks ago. Very fast bow.

After another 100 arrows today:
It really does shoot well. My first thought when I received the bow was that I was gonna get rid of that little Hoyt flipper rest as I shoot all my other bows off of the shelf. Decided to leave it on. I shot wood, 2 sizes of aluminum, and 2 different carbons off of it today and they all flew well. I've always believed it's easier to get good arrow flight from some kind of elevated/flipper type rest than from the shelf,
but have always thought "the closer to the hand the arrow - the more accurate you are". Even canting the bow, I was hitting what I wanted. Anyway, the bow is marked 4c1164, 47#, 60", II, so I assume it's a 1964 Browning Safari II bow. If I'm wrong, please don't hesitate to let me know. You won't hurt my feelings - I've been married to the same gal for 37 years and I know when I'm wrong!   :bigsmyl:

May the marriage to your browning last just as long and as you stated it'll let you know when you're wrong too,HAPPY SHOOTING.
