I Like to shoot in the garage at about 5 to 7 yards or so when it its wet and sloppy outside just to say I'm flinging some arrows, so this evening I'm shooting my Lefty '65 Kodiak, and although of all the bows in my collection it seems somewhat more hefty in weight in hand, but it is very smooth and quiet.... I know alot of fellas say they prefer the '64 over the '65 and '66 bows.... Is there much difference in the latter two bows? I do think they are pretty! and how many of you own at least one or more of these three bows? Thanks!

I own one of each. I like to shoot the "64 most. The '65 and '66 look similar except the '65 has a slimmer grip, slimmer limb tips and dark green glass as opposed to the brown glass on the '66. The '65 had a different wood in the riser too but I'm not sure what is what there. Generally the '65 wood is more figured than the '66.
I used to own two '65s but one delaminated a couple of years ago. Bummer.

My 65 and 66 seem to shoot about the same but I prefer the brown glass over the green glass for looks.

I don't own a 65,but I prefere much more the 64 over my 66.Maybe estetically the 66 is more appealing anyway! What I don't like about the 66 is the grip that is too short in high and my hand doesn't sit well.

I do own all three. And even though the 64 is the quickest the 65 feels best in my hand. I have mentioned this before that there are few bows that just feel perfect and this 65 sure does. Maybe it has some of Bowdoc's Mojo as he refinished it a couple years ago.
Yes the 64 is a plain Jane but oh how it flings an arrow...
Again none of these bows could be considered inferior to any other Kodiak it's a matter of preference.
Enjoy!!

I own two 65Kodiaks. One is 54lbs, the other is 60. I love shooting both of them. I sold my 66 but it shot well also, but I'm a.fan of the green glass. Never owned a 64. I'll take my 60lb 1971 Kodiak hunter over all three. Matter of fact it slowly taking the place of my BW :D

Chuck,
You sold me the '66 and you are correct, it is a good solid shooter.

Reddogge I've been trying to replace that bow since I sold it. Hard to find one that's 60lbs.
