I have a Bear Super Kodiak In perfect shape. It also came with a original Bear careing case. Also in perfect shape. It is 60" AMO and 50# at 28. Any one got an idea what it is worth? Or where can I look to find out.
-
Don't sell it is a good bow. They worth more of what you can take selling it.
-
Do you know how old it is? Serial #? Any pictures? Value depends a lot on the year.
-
Its probably not worth anything, Just send it to me and Ill dispose of it proper,
Larry

Either post pictures or give good description of bow, colors, etc. Serial number will help if it was made between 1967 1/2 and 1969. First digit will be 8 or 9. After that we need colors or photos.
Please check the auction sites or the trader for values.

Here are some 67 1/2, 68 and 69 Super Kodiaks. The first number of the serial number will tell you the year.

Nice line Gil!

Wow Gil! Those are beautiful! I'm convinced one of those was the one I saw on the rack in the shop when I was about 18 that I couldn't afford! That baby was $100 back then. Seems like everything in life I thought I "needed" back then cost 5 times more than I could afford. I have the same problem today only the numbers are bigger!
-
Roy the same thing happened to me. I wanted a '68 Super Kodiak in 1968. I couldn't afford it and wound up buying a new Kodiak Magnum. Now that I have the means to buy them (they are cheap today) I have 7 Super Ks from 67 1/2 to '69. They seem nicer today than they did back then. I have had over 200 bows in the last 4 years and these Super Ks hold their own against any of the other bows out there. The '60s are my favorite Bear bows. Fred realy knew how to make them back then.
-
I second you Gil.I own only 4,sold 2 to please a cople of friends.
-
I have to thin my herd for a construction project but these Super Ks will probably be the last on the list, with exception of a few Harrisons.
-
I wanted one from the year I was born, they are sweet bows!

Gil
Very Nice looking line up of bows. Are they all original or have you had any work done? I have two and find the Super K to be one of the finest shooting bows out there. Thanks for the pics...

Stevo,
Nice Bear SK there.. It looks like a 1989.
That is an incredible target, what are the details on that?
-
I have a 72 I got for 125.00 [local]. Great shape with some use marks. Don't sell it unless you are getting out of archery. That's how I got mine. I bought one new in 72 and sold it. I should have never done it! Young needed rent money.
Anyone know what the correct vitage quiver is for a 72???? Green / spring arm / converta?
-
GY what elf ?
for some odd reason ever since my pc crashed I can not post pics any more I'll keep working on that.I been wanting to show off a new SK I did get a 1976 blue stripe 50# what a gem what a shooter pics soon I hope bd
-
Here's a Blue Stripe. I am not the best with the camera. I don't do it justice. It does have a couple of holes I am working on.
It's 50# on the riser but 51 under the strike plate. It's a very smooth fast bow.

Gator, that is a 1968, 60", 50# and all original without a mark on her...pure as the driven snow ;)
-
Can anyone tell me what the original strike plate and shelf material was on a blue stripe like I have pictured above?
I think it would look sharp with white calf hair as the strike plate, but I would also like to know what was original.
-
The shelf material was white Bear hair and the strike plate material was white/black calf hair. The 1976 came with a Bear weather rest [ srick on rubber finger]. Yes it will look real cool. :)
-
I'm sorry guys I didn't know if you covered that but the first super k is a 69 according to the serial number. In 70 I believe is when they started the serial numbers with a K.

:saywhat:

Mine is a 68 Super Kodiak 60" and 45# serial number 8Z2705
