Recently helped my friend Leonard Jefferson out and he gifted me with a five old broadheads. I'm not much of a broadhead collector but if its archery and its old I like it. Not sure what I have here or the age. I know one is a Howard Hill, one is marked Spiral Killer and one is made by Browning. The two in the single picture were designed and made by Leonard himself. The first is a prototype and the other is the finished product. The two heads in the last photo are Chisholm Condors made in 1988. Ron.

Leonard and Rocky are close friends and have some good stories. It's my understanding there was some collaboration on the making and marketing of these broadheads.

Larry,very interesting and that could be, it shows those two along with three others with ABCC numbers listed on page 32 in the Traditional Broadhead 1972-2007 Identification Guide Book along with three others. Ron.

Rocky Chisholm lives out here and his friendship goes back aways with Leonard. Leonard has a machinist background and has been a bowhunter since probably the stone age. (LOL) These two points were picked up at the now closed El Toro Archery Club sometime in the late 80's. Does the Guidebook give any other info? I think Leonard will enjoy this. Also, can you date the other broadheads?

Rough guesstimates:
Ace Jet - mid 1940's
Spiral Killer - Mid 1950's to 1960.
Browning Serpentine - Early 1970's
Hills Hornet 2 (1955 'cause it doesn't have a "V")
Herters 4 - mid 1960's

This isnt an old one but I would like to have some if I could find 'em - anybody have any G5 Shkote heads they wanna sell?

Thanks for the info. As stated above, not much of a broadhead collector at this time but this could be a good start.

Larry, I believe the broadhead on the left in the photo is a 1989 and the broadhead on the right is a 1988. The guide doesnt give any info other than dates but sounds like you have it figured out. The longer I belong to the American Broadhead Collectors Club the more I learn. There are lots of great members willing to share thier wealth of knowledge and trade broadheads, its a good organization and anybody collecting broadheads should think about joining. Ron.

I found this information in the A.B.C.C. "Best of Broadheads" publication.
Rocky Chisholm was interested in developing a quality head similar to the Butterfield Brute. Knowing the design he wanted, Rocky, along with a friend who was a machinist, started the first prototypes of the Condor in 1985.
The Point Profile did not mention Rocky's friends name, but my guess, it is Leonard.
I believe the broadhead on the left is the 1985 Condor prototype, and the broadhead on the right is a 1988. There were 1,000 produced of each head.
