Trying to date a wood handled Bear TD I just purchased. All it says is TDH-141. It is a beautiful bow just was a little curious on the year it was made.
-
Here is mine TDH-790. I am guessing early 2000's.

Thanks, The coin has the Bear, But the latches are smooth and the wood was dark. Thats what kinda through me off. I have a couple A Risers from early 2000. But the latches were a little ruff to the touch. Thanks for the help. Tom

Yep Tom TDH is a brown stripe,B riser.
-
Tom,
Sounds like we need to see some pics!! So the wood is all one tone?

I have the same handle as oldschool TDH691 is the # on mine. came with limbs with reinforced tips for fast flight use . Had a problem getting green tip limbs to fit ,indexing screw was off by a hair . I seem to remember talking to someone at Bear archery and they told me mine was early to mid 90's . I know that I've since been on a quest to get a take down from each decade ,Have 80's and 90's missed out on a takedown supreme (2000's)recently . One thing I know is that that TDH series shoots great ,50lb limbs, Bear magnum 308 arrows, and 145 gr tips.

Follow up : The coin on my tdh is the raised likeness of Fred himself . I actually called bear archery after my first post and the person I spoke to said in recent years the last # of the serial # is the year made mine being 691 made in '91. unfortunately I dont think that is accurate ,based on that mine would be the 69th bow of 91 and Tom's would be the 14th of '91 yet they dont resemble each other . His has smooth latches mine textured , his pic of bear on coin ,mine has pic of Fred . Anyway!! I would like to see a pic of Toms bow . Interesting ???

The coin on my riser above also has the Fred Bear Image Coin (some call it the Freddy Kruger Coin).
If the last number is actually the year it was made it would be in the 2000's. The early 90's bows were still Green Stripers.

TOM
You need a pristine 1970 Riser with the routed site.

Great looking wood in that riser Tom,,Very nice find,,,,
-
Tom, my handle looks just like yours. Mine was made in '96'. Your handle wood has darken up and really looks great.
-
I like the dark look, Looks more like the old risers. Does your have the smooth latches? Thanks, Tom

Howdy folks.
New guy here. I was browsing around for info about Bear Takedowns and happened upon this site. The amazing thing I found was where huntnfool said he has handle # TDH-691. I have TDH-692!!
Like huntnfool states, mine looks like like the picture from oldskool and I have textured limb pockets.
I found the bow at a local archery pro-shop. The owner of the shop tells me that he ordered the bow in 1996-1997 from Bear, never sold it and basically packed it away in storage where it was forgotten about. I bought it (STOLE IT!) just a couple months ago as a brand new bow.
Anyway, I thought it was interesting that I had a sequential handle number with huntnfool.

Thats is cool Mike ! I bought on the auction site so I have no Idea where it went ,geographicaly, when it left gainsville . coincidently mine was my first takedown! Have since bought a green stripe and am watching for the real Expensive ones ,Supreme and The originals, also looking to put the current model on order,
