Title: Fred Bear Print
Post by: TLANE on October 06, 2010, 09:18:00 PM
I was just wondering how many of you guys have seen or have the print of Fred Bear with the bobcat over his shoulder that was issued by the American Archery Council in 1985.

I have got one that Fred Bear signed and gave it to our youngest daughter. She has it but she doesn't live at home anymore.

Yes, this is it.  This print is 25 yrs old now.  I wonder how many are left?  I've got one that I had matted and framed with the stamp but I've only saw a couple others

I have one that is matted and framed with the stamp...it has a certificate of authenticity from the American Archery association I think...it was the 1985 inagural commemorative print I believe.  i'ts at home in my living room adn I am out of town on business or I would just go look at the thing...

1,000 were printed however the last ones that surfaced were returned to Bear Archery in about 1996-1998 for whatever reason(most had water stained corners).Bear offerd them at about 30-40 bucks each.I bought 2 and traded one for a bow and then traded the other for a 357 for the wife(man was that ever dumb).Problemo was a couple of high bidders bought them all yes all of them over 300 of them and then offerd the print to the bowhunting public at an incredable inflatted price like 200.00-250.00 so that would explain why I do not have one now.I simpey could not afford to buy one at that price.I saw or is it seen one up for auction at around 500.00 the seller offerd it to me for 350.00 plus shipping unmatted and unframed.I guess you know where I told him to put it.I'am all for making a little dough when we can but making it all at once sucks. That is a very nice Bear item bd

That's pretty neat to know.  I've seen a few other than mine but not many.  I've had mine for about 10 years now, I'm thinking I gave 200 for the print & stamp & letter but have since had it matted and framed.  Pretty neat to have Fred in the living room surrounded by deer heads!
