Post by: OldSkoolArcher on September 09, 2010, 07:56:00 PM
Ben Pearson Mercury Hunter 7346
AG-915
60"
xx55# - 28"

Great Look and Great Shooter!!
Not 100% on the year. The Mercury Cushioned logo seems different than most I have seen on the Mercury Hunters.

Nice looking bow. I have two Marauder td's and the caps say Mercury cushioned power on them. I think I saw this one or one like it on another site for sale a while back and I wondered then about that marking as I hadn't seen it before. Could someone have refinished it and put those on? Possibly the factory put them on. I hope you like yours as well as I like mine. They are nice shooters.

Bow looks 100% original condition to me. I agree they are great shooters.

I think that's a '69 Mercury Hunter.  In '67 and '68 the Hunter wwas part of the Sovereign line, model 1096 (the Sovereign line was dropped in '69).  In 1970, the logo went to "ben pearson" (lower case) with a bison hoofprint. In '71, the model number was 7346-0.  I have 4 Mercury Hunters and a Mercury Marauder TD.  Two of the Hunter's have your logo and one is marked 1096, the other has been refinished(?).  One Hunter and the Marauder have the lower case BP (I would guess 1970).  The fourth hunter has no logo and no model #, just draw weight and serial number.

Archery Archives is the best-only???-source I've found for IDing Pearson bows. PM me if you want the links.

From top to bottom or R to L (all dates are estimates):

1.  '67 or '68  Sovereign (refinished? data missing)
2.  '67 or '68  Sovereign
3.  '70
4.  '82-'84

The Mercury Hunter was brought out again for '82-'84 as model 7346.  They no longer sported that beautiful rosewood, but rather "hand finished hardwood/brown wood handles".  They also had a yellow hoofprint on the limb.
