I have a Patriot with the Bear riser sight and was told that I should put a peep sight in the string to be my rear sight and look through that to look thru the adjustable sight on the riser.
How/where do I install a peep in the string? Where do I get one?
Or, is this correct or should I just skip it. I've been having fun with this bow but I still shoot better instinctive.
Thanks in advance

It is best to do that. I gives you a front and rear sight just as on a rifle.
Take your pick

Thanks Jack
This link does not come up, but I'll search on it.
How do you install one of these, or better, where?
Thanks

Separate the strands on the bow string so you have the same number on each side. Place the peep between the two sets of strands. The
tauntness of the strung up string holds it in place.
Now come to full draw and let the string fall in line with the pin sight. Adjust the peep up or down so you look through it to see the pin. This will be by trial and error.
Once you have the peep positioned right, tie dental floss above and brlow the peep to keep it from moving.
To use a pin and peep sight, you may have to experiment with different anchor points to find what works best.
If you are gonn use a peep, you just as soon go ahead and also use a kisser button. This is a plastic button that sits on the string and you place it so it hits right between your lips at full draw. This will insure a consistand anchor every time.
In effect you will end up with a three point anchor. 1 whereever your hand, index finger, or thunb ends up on tour face, 2 where the kisser button hits your lips, and three where your line of sight pears through the peep sight.
Although you will adjust your pin sight up or down for different distances, your peep will never need to move.

I'll give it a rip once I get a peep site.

You can also mount a fiber-optic sight pin if you are going to hunt with it

Good tips Jack ! I'm a wheel bow shooter from way back and peeps very popular with wheels . Actually you dont want your anchor to change, stay constant as with any form of shooting. longer distances are tricky because you sight has to be centered in the peep for accuracy . Also it will be necessary to shoot the bow without a cant ,perfectly up and down . if you watch the peep as you tilt the bow you will see that it moves off the centerline of the arrow and consistentsy (?) will be hard to acheive.
Sights and peeps are great for increased accuracy but as with any type of shooting the key is PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE Good Luck

Thanks guys
Not using this for hunting. Bow is too light and I can't hit anything with it. I'll rely on instinctive shooting for that
This is for target shooting and really just to learn how it works
