Title: Super Kodiak shelf lowering

I am seeing more and more SK's that have the shelf cut lower.Why is this done?

For a lot of people it is easier to shoot instintively with the arrow closer to the hand. Fred Asbel talks of this in his book on instinctive shooting.

pinecrest, Fred did this to his own bow. It puts the arrow right over the hand. It also puts a radius on the shelf, less friction. For me, it makes a difference.
