I bought one off the big auction from a guy off tradgang that is 64 inches long. I remember a lot of talk going on about this bow and im getting ready to list it in the classifieds, i just want to be sure i know what im talking about.

I started collecting about 16 months ago and had about 40 Bear bows before i decided collecting just wasn't my thing.

I have sold all my Bear bows but 3, one being this 64in Grizzly. I just can't decide if i want to sell it because it really is one of the nicest Bear bows i have ever owned.

Also the bow is a true 64 inches so i would think that would make it a really rare bow.

I have a 30in draw and man it shoots as good as some of these custom bows i own.

I guess i will sit and think about it for a couple of hours, i have some great pictures of the bow so if i decide to list it guys it will be around 7 PM Alabama time.

I kind of remember reading on TG about a rare 64 inch Griz.

Joe - You need to remember that 1959 was years before AMO and standard lengths. Lots of those old Bears varied in the actual length of the limb and the position that the string groves were cut into the limbs. The people stringing and marking the bows, just put the closest string that would work on bows like yours and assumed it was a 64" bow. Those odd marked lengths show up once in a while.

But if the bow wasn't build on a different form, it really isn't a different bow.  

All Bear bows of different lengths were built on different forms.

I have a couple of Bear bows that are lengths that are not shown in the Bear catalogs, but these bows were actaully built on different forms with different riser lengths and are legitimate bows.

Hope I haven't confused you.

Is your 64" Grizzly the same one we talked about last August? FG875A, 49#  ?

Yea Wade its the same bow and im not really that attached to it so im more than likely going to sell it.

Some of you guys have got some amazing collections and im just not sure i want to go in that direction.

Collecting cost money and im a hunter who likes to hunt all over the country so buying all these Bear bows will keep me from that.

Also i have a little girl and not a boy and im pretty sure she could care less what kind of bow i have.lol

Yes, marked 64" and a 62"AMO string made the brace height way too high...Roy
