What year did Bear stop marking the #2 limbs ? Been looking for a pair in the lower 40s pound range without much luck.
Thanks

Bear= the number 2 limbs went out with the mag risers in the seventies but I'll have to look up the exact date. Currently, RER makes a good number 2 length after market limbs with static tips. worth looking into. I have a set of 58 pounders that my son is using on my old A riser to make a 58" bow. Also, watch **ay. GY

Bear- My first thought is that the FF would be okay with the mag riser. Any riser CAN break, of course and I've heard of some of the early mag risers failing but I always wondered if they had taken a bad fall or some other accident that caused a fracture that expanded later. I just don't know. I also know a few guys who are using fast flight on some older bows- George Stout is one- and haven't had problems so far. I'd point out that the bows I've heard of them doing this with are fairly light. I personally don't use it on my wooden handled Takedowns even though the Rose Oak limbs would handle it just fine. My bows are fairly heavy at 66-72# and the glue in my risers is 41-39 years old. I would probably give the FF a try on the mag riser especially if it hasn't been used much. Good luck- the combo you mentioned should make a good shooting rig. GY

Fast flight strings will saw the tips off a standard B riser.
I have your number 2 limbs, 43# on a B riser
Red tip second generation. Right ones for a Mag riser
Can't go any further about them here. PM me if you are interested

From what I understand FF can only be shot on limbs with reinforced tips. something about the non stretch of FF that will break the tips off. Bear limbs with the four layer tips (white, black, white, then black again)are rated for Fast Flight use . I have 2 sets . I use them on an early 90's riser to make a 60" bow (one set at a time of course ) I personally would not use fast flight on a bow not specifically designed for it you just are not going to gain that much . an extra 8 to 10 ft a second aint worth destroying a good bow .
Just my opinion !

I started building my own #2 limbs. I have built two pair so far. GREAT shooters, fast and quiet. I'm shooting fast flite on them now. Look for my post here in the next few days titled "My" Bear A Mag. It will include a modified Bear four arrow quiver!

I look forward to seeing that, inrut.
