Title: snake skins

can anyone give me instructions on the proper way to put rattlesnake skins on the limbs of my bow.i put some on blackwidow limbs before,and covered the skins with epoxy. it didn't effect my bow any but, they were to shinny.

I used Titebond 3 to glue the skins on, and wipe-on Poly to finish them with. Came out great with minimal shin.

To each his own I guess but I think your bows will look best showing their natural beauty and snake skins will look best on snakes.

azdriheat, i agree wood is one of gods most beautiful creations, bow hunters are really into camo,you have to agree there is none better than a snake. they certainly look better on a bow than under your feet.ha! thanks frank i may have to take you up on your offer. still looking for the perfect skins.

I've put some on 4 differaent self bows as taught to by Gary Davis.  Seen him help a few guys put some on glass backed bows.  Use white elmers glue.  If you get a bubble under the skin after the glue drys just make a tiny cut over the bubble and wet a small cloth and push on the bubble till it stays flat.  This reactives the elmers and it will stickdown.  You cant do that with waterprooof glues like epoxy or tite bond. If this is your first it's probably the safest.
