Post by: 69RECURVE on June 18, 2010, 10:12:00 PM
Need help please with trying to find out when the X-26 Wonderbow was first produced and for how long. If the serial number helps here it is.
M62492M. Is also marked as a 45+ & 58".
Has a stag head that says "the Necedah" model x26.

Thanks

they don't go buy serial number.the best you can narrow it down is this.If it has brown glass on limbs 1967 to 1971.If it has green glass on limbs they started in 72 to ?.and 55" X-26 brown glass on limbs 1964 to 1966.

What I like about it is the feel of the grip. I don't have a large hand by any means but that big grip sure feels comfortable. Without any string silencers it is pretty quiet. I really like this bow.

Also I tweaked the brace height to about 7.75" and it made a big difference from the 7" I started at.

I still have the brown glass limbed 58" Necedah that I got new in 1969.  It's marked 50- and pulls 48#.  I took my first deer with that bow.  I find now that it stacks like crazy and has lots of hand shock compared to my newer bows.  I completely agree with the comment about the grip.  It fits my hand better than most bows I have shot.

I have an Ocala green glass bow that I beleive was built in '68.  Here's a link with some Shakespeare info & pics.

Wow, thanks for that great link. It is now in my favorites. By looking at things I would say I have a 67.
Again thanks for the site & the comments.
