Title: Longbow by Ernie Root (pic added)
Post by: Blackhawk on June 11, 2010, 04:07:00 PM
Anyone familiar with this straight limbed longbow by Root called the Target King?  It is 68" and 39# with green glass back and reddish brown glass belly.

OK, I know...  :p  it's an ugly bow. You guys are just too nice to say it, huh?   ;)   I learned a little about Root bows and this is a 55 or 56 model.

Fred Anderson said he liked it.   :goldtooth:

I grabbed a few 1916's and spend about an hour shooting the hay bales today with the Root, and I am very impressed.  Bow had very little shock and sent the arrows right where I was looking.  It also was deadly quiet with a very unique "thump" sound I had never heard before.

This ugly thing is getting better looking every day.
