Danny out of the 100 or so 1960 Kodiaks I've worked on or handled yours is 1 of only 3 purple heart ibeam 1960 I've ever seen.Rare and a good draw weight too...great bow bd

Thanks for all the information guys and the kudos. I cannot wait to shoot her and yes, Felix, I will be hunting with her, gonna be shooting some Sweetlands out of her with Bear heads from the 60s and will be toting the arrows in a Jerry Hill back quiver.
bowdoc, I did not know that the purple heart window was rare in a 60. Learn something new every day. Believe me I was overjoyed to get it, especially at draw weight and the price I got it for.

I know how you feel Danny. I just scored my first 59 Kodiak 60" 46#er. It's not as pretty as yours but shoots great.Scott

Got the bow today and my heart almost stopped when I picked it up, the lower limb tip was punched through the box. Thankfully it does not appear to be damaged, only a couple of scuffs. The guy did not pack it well at all. Why do people ship fine bows like this, I always completel wrap any bow I ship totally in buble wrap, this one had a couple of bubble wrap baggies thrown over each tip and that was it! Not even taped on. This could have been a disaster, guess the good lord was watching it for me.
-
What a great bow! The 59 and 60 are classics. They have great lines and are really sexy when at full draw.
-
Danny,
Glad it survived the trip (despite the so-so packing). I still get chills seeing the photos that Rob posted of one of his bows (tip peeking through the "packaging"). Your bow came through unscathed. She must have some serious mojo going on!

Beautiful bow Danny!

Got my new strings made by Steve aka "bearbowman", put one on and let it streach a bit, not needed, pre streached. Set the brace at a bit over 7 3/4", put a nock on the string and started shooting it. WOW, really spits and arrow and super quiet, no bow hush or hush puppies and is super quiet. Shooting some 70# ipe arrows out of it for now until my Sweetlands get back from Rick.
I always thought the 62 K was the best shooter but not this time, this 60 K out shoots any 62 I have ever shot. Watch out piggys here I come.
