Title: Super Kodiak Question
Post by: DGEsposito on March 14, 2010, 02:53:00 PM
What would be the maximum draw length on a 60" super kodiak '69. I have one I plan on stringing up I draw 29.5"and don"t want to risk destroying it.I would rather sell it or trade it for a longer bow.I bought this bow in '69.

I bought this bow when I was in the eight grade and used it until I was in my 20'sthen bought bw bows and stored this bow since just wanted to string it up ,but didn't want to destroy it in doing so.It's in great shape 9.5 all day long.I was not aware super k's came in 64" in '69.

A 69 Super Kodiak never shot? Better send that one to me and I'll send you something longer that has been well tested. Sounds like a great bow!

Oh, I see it has been shot. I wouldn't think it would hurt it draw 29.5 but then again it's not my bow.

I shot my first 2 deer w/this bow. I havent strung it up in 30yrs.I plan on putting pics as soon as I possibily can .The finish has yellowed and I steel wooled it and am now in the process of putting a finish on it the tips and the phenolic are now as white as the were 41yrs. ago.Now just to reasearch the best finish.

29.5 isn't going to hurt it. I have a 30.5 draw, and I shoot my 60" S.K.'s all the time. I even shoot a few 48" and 52" Super and Kodiak mags for fun. They pinch a bit, but the 60" are fine.

They were made for unlimited draw lenght.I get 29" and like stagetek,I love shooting the Kodiak Mag 52 without any problem.

DGE- I have a '69 that I shoot regularly and I draw 29 or a shade better- no issues and I haven't noticed any significant "stack." If the bow has been stored properly and not exposed to excessive heat you shouldn't have any problems. Grant

My '70 has no stack out to 29". I shot it a lot and hunted with it last season, after it had been put up for a decade or more.
