Title: It's done! Link to pics added!
Post by: 30coupe on December 08, 2007, 10:56:00 PM
I just got the following email from Jason Kendall:

Hello Russ,  I just wanted to let you know I am ahead of schedule a little bit and I have just sprayed the final coat on your bow! It came out 46# @ 28" and real perty too!
I will send you a picture tomorrow when its cured overnight.

Oops! I better add this is a Kanati, 58", leaf brown riser, and as you can see above, she is 46# @ 28".

Jason put my bow on his website! If you want to see one awesome longbow check this out:

I got mine about 2 weeks ago and I love it.  Truly one of the quickest, most stable in the hand and easiest to shoot bows I've ever had.

I'm going over to Jason's to pick her up this afternoon. I'll try to post some full length pics later. The full length pics on Jason's site are a different bow. Mine is the one in the middle (4 shots). It's just too cool!    :archer:

Lemme know when you get tired of it. It sure looks sweet, and I like the weight.  :D

I'll keep that in mind Killie!  "[dntthnk]"        :D

I ordered that weight because I'm not getting any younger for some darn reason, and I wanted this one to last until they pry my cold, dead fingers from the riser. I can still shoot heavier bows, but I can't enjoy it as much anymore. My elbows give me fits unless I keep it under 50 pounds. I've shot one of Jason Kendall's bows before, so I knew this was the bow I wanted. I just had to wait for the funding to be there.

I'm heading over to Jason's right after dinner, so I'll let you know how she shoots in a few hours.

If you get tired of waiting, I bet Jason would whip one up for you, Killie!   ;)

Mine's a 60 incher (I have a 29+ draw), 50#'s @ 29".  I got the Greybark model and I put the rubber sleeve grip on it.

The handles on those look mighty comfortable!

Wow! It shoots even better than it looks. I about froze my butt off, but I had to try it. I think maybe I'd shoot better if my eyes weren't watering so bad, but it's not bad. I put my Boa quiver on it and shot this group at 20 yards:

I think this bow will outshoot me!

That's a 2016, a POC 45-50, and two POC 50-55 spined arrows. This bow doesn't seem to care; it just shoot everything! The one to the right is the 45-50...maybe a tad weak, but at 20 yards, I'm not complaining!

This bow is incredibly smooth and fast! Jason Kendall may be our most under-rated bowyer. These bows just plain rock. He has changed over from Actionwood to Diamondwood. This is one of the first Kanatis since the change. It adds a bit of mass and virually eliminates shock...there is none! Because of the change, his prices have gone up for 2008, but he is still too cheap...I mean a great value for the money.

Sorry Killie, you're gonna have a long wait!

I agree brother.  That bow is a steal, especially at that price.  Like you, I also found my bow to be very tolerant of spine.  I shoot GT 5575's, 31 inches long, 125 gr. tip with 5 GPI weight tubes.  I also ran 2117's and 2216's of the same length through it.   It didn't really care and shot them all to point of aim.

Yup! I haven't tried carbons yet, but I bet it would handle them just fine. I do love the woodies though! Jason likes 1916's. I don't have any to try right now, but 2016's @ 29" BOP shoot like darts with 125 gr. heads. They group right with my 50-55 cedars.

Great bows and a great guy to work with. I have several of his bows and like them all.

Jason,I tried to email you but couldnt get the message to you.Im very interested in a bow or 2.Your price is a helluva value. The only question is, could you do a natural bamboo backing?Im a fool for the nodes, I just think they give a bow such a natural dimension. Please let me know.If I dont hear Ill call ya soon.
                  Thanks Izzy
