Title: Shiwassee Magnum
Post by: penrosefred on November 03, 2009, 09:19:00 AM
Tried this in Pow wow, now I will try here. I have a bow marked Shiawassee Magnum, made for the Archery Centre, Midland Mi. 45+ 54" D4224A. Does anyone know what co. made these bows for the Centre? I bought it back in the 60's.

Wow, do you have pictures? That's got my geography written all over it (literally--I hunt in both Midland and the Shiawassee State Game Area).

Maybe I can poke around and ask the locals for info.

Bernie,

I was thinking more that the name might have come from the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge. A bow hunters paradise back in the day.

Jack,

You're probably right, but since I missed the draw this year for the Refuge, I had to take my bow across the river to the state side.

So the Refuge right now is dead to me   "[dntthnk]"

Of course I'll change my mind next year.

Bernie,

I drew a permit for the refuge again this year as I did last year too. Not quite the same as drawing one twenty-five or thirty years ago though. Those were the days!
