allways wanted one of these so found this one on the auction site and it is way better shape than i expected 48#@28 66" shoots like a dream and at 40yrs old too.

Great looking bow. The 1959 Specials were popular 50 years ago and are perhaps the most popular of Bear's vintage Specials today. They are nice looking, nice shooting and because so many were bought in 1959, in the most popular lengths, they are one of the easier year Specials for collectors or shooters to locate for a reasonable price. One of Bear's all time classics.

I think wade said it all there, and it was 50 yrs instead of 40.
  I have shot a few of these and i think they shoot as good or better than most bows.
   Hope to hunt a little with it this year, most if not all of my hunting this year will be off the ground and this bow is a little longer than i like but it will work.
