I have a '56 Kodiak Special that is 64 inches long but I can't seem to get any of my stringers to fit it. I'm only 5' 9" so maybe that's part of it, but the two I have with tip pockets on the ends always feel like they will slip off as I'm leaning over to slip the top string loop on and I don't want to risk twisting the limbs. I have another one where the rubber pad rests on the upper limb, but it just isn't long enough to give me the leverage to string it up. Can you guys give me steer in the right direction?

I use the kind with the rubber pad on the upper limb. Every one I've tried I needed to shorten... never seen one that was too short to work. Even after shortening it, I'm standing on it with both feet slightly over shoulder width apart.

Do like Jeremy does, stand on it with two feet a little apart. The rubber kind should string anything.
