I've never shot a K-mag but wanted to try one for this hunting season. So I recently purchased a 1966 model. I can't help but think the 52" length would have some advantages in a treestand or groundblind.
I was wondering how they compare in performance to a 60" Bear bow. Also from a collectors aspect which years are more sought after, and why?
Thanks in advance for any input!

My first bow was a brand new '64 K mag that I bought while working in a gun/archery shop. It was a 43 lb'er and shot pretty good if I did my part. I did notice finger pinch and it got to the point where it really bothered me. It was a real handy length, though. Can't tell you about it's collector value or it's desirability....but there always seems to be a bunch of'em for sale on 8bay....

Yeah Tom I have noticed that they are popular on the bay! I am concerned about the finger pinch. All the bows I currently shoot are 60". I draw 27.5 inches and wonder if that is to long a draw for a short bow! Guess I'll find out:)

I draw 1" longer and did not think it pinched to bad.
Good luck

Chuck, those short bows are very tricky. I've never been able to shoot one well with a 28" draw.

Once I receive this bow I will keep you guys posted. I've never shot one so I am a K-Mag virgin. I will never know if I'm suited for this type of bow unless I try one, but Dang they're cool to look at though!

61, and 62 are probably the most collectible.
But then of course there is the Type I and Type II from 63.
And the curved riser inlay on the 64 and 65.
The 70 commands good prices usually.
Hmmmm...I guess they are all collectible. LOL
I found them to be very smooth drawing for a short bow. Never hunted with one but they are very neat bows.

I am collecting them and I am looking for 62 and 65.The one I am corrently using is a 72 53# and is extremly accurate quiet and does,nt stuck at my 29"

I started with a Type 3 63, back in 66. Still have it. To offset finger pinch at my 29 1/2" draw,I would draw with 3 and hold with the two lower fingers.. Probably not the best thing to do as far as form goes, but it did solve the problem and I shot it well.

It seems that finger pinch is common problem. Hopefully it won't be a problem with my 27.5in draw.
Thanks for your input guys.

Try to shoot three fingers under, thats what I did with mine and it helped.
