Guys, can you flip the seat up on the lone wolf climber, like you can on their hang on stands??? I love the portability of a climber, but it's the shot that counts and the seat often makes a shot very difficult...
i have the sit and climb version and you can't flip the seat up but it slides back out of your way.they are great climbers, the only thing about them is they are not for bigger guys.
That is for sure!
Love mine, I can take bungy chords and strap my pack to the stand and it is still light! great for long walks in. sets up quick.
Seat does not really get out of your way though?? but have had no trouble. You wont be disappointed(sp?)

Whadaya mean NOT for big guys. :) I weigh 285 on mama's bathroom scales and love my Alpha sit and climb.
you can flip the seat up if you have it bungeed to the tree correctly. not as silently/easily as a hang on though.
With the sit and climb you can't flip the seat up but it will push back toward the tree and out of your way as you stand up.
I have the hand climber and the seat is just wide enough to remain comfortable and in to the tree close enough to not hinder my shots. I leave my seat down. Sometimes when I stand for a long period, I'll move the seat up or around the tree. But I do not try moving it when something is close as it can make a little noise. The noise made is just the teeth on the seat frame against the bark, very minimal noise, but enough to spook something that is close, wary and wise.
If you pull out on the seat prior to allowing it to fold up, it makes no noise. You can't allow it to rake against the tree bark or it will produce noise. Of course, you have to have the bungie in place in order for the folding action to work properly. If you don't, the seat will just fall down on top of the stand. I usally fold my seat and stand during the first and last hour of daylight. The Alpha Hand Climber is the best climbing treestand ever made.
Foxbo has it. I've used the Lone Wolf hand climber for many years now. I just bungee the traction belt and when I'm ready just pull the seat out away from the tree and let it fold up and drop back against the tree. Reverse to sit back down. This is a great feature of this climbing stand.
